The first day at the EYP-Project 2023
Opening speech
The first day of our EYP-Project started with opening speeches. One was held by Ms. Claaß (who is responsible for years eleven to thirteen at our school). Ms. Claaß introduced us to the main topics of this project and stressed the importance of intercultural exchange: "As a wise person once said:'each and everyone of us shall not condemn what the other is saying but rather try to understand'. Therefore we have to engage in dialogue and continue to do so." Also the two presidents Joana and Anneke welcomed and introduced the guests.
Ice-Breaker
To break the ice at the beginning there were several fun games and group activities so everyone got to know each other a little better.

After the first working session of the teams we had lunch. The catering team made delicious pizza and a great variation of salad.

Social activities
Throughout the day all groups had different social activities for teambuilding. The committees competed in small battles. The catering team organized a rallye through the school building with a challenge of taking pictures and finding ducks, they also organized dance battles between the different teams.

Interview with the catering team
"It's very much fun to do this job!", answered Jonna from the catering team when Hanna asked her about her job. Almost everyone who was asked was of the same opinion, Carina said:"It's wonderful, but also a lot of work!"
Interview with Anneke, one of our presidents
Edda, a member of the media team, interviewed Anneke, one of the presidents. To the question, why she volunteered to be president, Anneke answers:"The EYP influenced me to the extent that now I am studying 'European studies' [...]. I kind of feel like I owe the EYP something. I am very gratetful that I have this experience."

Today the chairpersons started to introduce their groups to their specific topics. Afterwards the whole group prepared their topics to write the speeches tomorrow.
Our project on the radio
Today Mieke (delegate), Anneke (president) and Malte (chair person) had the great opportunity to speak with an editor from RSH, a local radio station. So, turn on the radio on Saturday morning when the interview will be broadcast!
